I work for a video production company. Each video has it’s unique group on one board. We also have a GFX board to submit GFX requests for specific videos
I’d like an automation that creates a mirrored item to a specific group on another board when a new GFX request is submitted from the GFX board. Is that possible?
Yes, this is possible. You can use a cross board automation to create an item on your video board whenever a new GFX request is submitted. That item can then be linked back to the GFX request using a Connect Boards column, and any needed fields can be shown with Mirror columns.
You can also scope the automation to a specific group if needed.

Native automations can create the item on the target board and you can choose a specific group but they cannot dynamically route to different groups based on the source item’s group.
The usual workaround is
Create the item on the target board into a holding group
Use a Connect Boards column to link it back to the original item
Optionally use a Status or Dropdown on the source board to indicate the destination group
Then use a second automation to move the item to the correct group based on that value
If you need the group mapping to stay fully dynamic at scale, this is where a Make or API based flow works best.
