Monday.com doesn’t have a built-in feature to directly transfer default item values when moving an item between boards.
I have boards for each month for production management, Items have to be moved around these boards, I have set the default items to reflect the month but they don’t change for instance when I move January to February, the default column value remains set to January.
Note: the default column is connected to another board that collects a production value overview. so every time I add an item it gives a total production value but when items move around it totals in the wrong month
The “items default values” function depends on a create item trigger. When you move an item to another board the new item trigger is obviously not fired (as the item itself is not new). I’m afraid it is not possible to achieve what you want with out-of-the-box monday.
Thanks for your insight @basdebruin , much appreciated. you would this this would be a natural progression in the “grand scheme of things”. I can’t seem to get an automation as a work around either, I am not a big fan of trying to plug the holes with third party apps like Zapier or make.
