Ensuring automations work by Forcing one column to be answered before another column

When it comes to automation triggers combined with a condition, I’d like the ability (without an app) to only permit one column to be answered before another column. In today’s state we need “process-ize” the order of answering columns, but I’d like to “system-ize” it on the board so that automated workflows always function correctly. The issue is that if the condition column is changed before the trigger column, the automation will not flow to a connected board. This can be very frustrating and requires rework to repair it every time.
