Error: Unable to upload files to forms anymore, anyone else seeing this?

We are seeing a system-wide error where we can no longer upload files to our request forms. This is occurring in multiple workspaces and is quite disruptive to daily work. I have a ticket in with support as of two days ago, but have not heard back on a resolution. Is anyone else experiencing this in their instance? If so, please add to this conversation for visibility.

I’ve not had this issue. Is it a workform that you’re using?

Yes, it is a WorkForm. It is occurring on multiple forms throughout our account in more than one workspace.

What’s the error you’re getting, can you screenshot to share?

We are also encountering this issue! It is letting us upload files from the board view after submission but not during the form fill.

Yes, we’re having the same issue! Files are not uploading to our forms either, and it’s really slowing things down. I also submitted a ticket a couple of days ago, but like you, I haven’t heard back yet. Hopefully, will address this soon. Let’s keep this thread updated if anyone hears anything back!

Update from Monday.com tech support. They no longer support .docx files and many of our files are in this format by default. Microsoft updated its default Word file format from .doc to .docx in 2007, and this is the standard format going forward. I am hopeful they will reverse this decision as it is impacting many users.

“At this time, docx files are no longer supported when uploading files to Workforms. The following file types can be uploaded to a Workform are the following: JPEG, Word/Doc, PDF, XLSX, CSV, GIF, MP4, SVG, TXT, AI. You can read more about this here

Sharing my ticket response. It may be helpful if others request something similar:

"I wanted to inform you that several users are reporting this issue on the Monday.com community forum as well.

Microsoft updated its default Word file format from .doc to .docx way back in 2007, and this format has been the standard ever since. As such, you can imagine how impactful it is when such an accepted format is suddenly unsupported.

I am hopeful the developers will quickly reverse this decision because it is affecting many users and goes against the widely accepted standard file format for Word documents. Making this change without communicating to users was, in my opinion, a misstep since we would need to redevelop all our Word document resources to revert back to .doc formats as if they were saved prior to 2007.

Please share with the team and strongly consider our request to support industry-standard .docx files. It would greatly help us continue our work seamlessly and prevent unnecessary disruptions.

Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Ran into the same issue yesterday and it was with any file, not just docx. We just rebuilt a new form because we didn’t have time to wait.

Hi Kristen,

So sorry that you have this issue, it’s really frustrating when things are changed without warning. The good news is that you can still upload all file types with the SuperForm app. Hope that can help relieve some of your frustration and create a more positive experience.
