Export only subitems of an Item on a board

I have a board that will have multiple items each with their own subitems. I need to be able to export only the subitems of a specific Item.

You can export the item and include subitems, but it is messy on a spreadsheet and requires the user to clear out all the non-subitem information and Monday branding. If I could check the subitem boxes and hit “export” like you can do with Items, it would be perfect.

I’ve tried Gorilla Spreadsheet, but it exports all subitems on the board instead of just the ones I am after.

Is there some marketplace app or solutoin that will do what I’m after?

There’s an app called Docugen that I use and that I recommend for my clients. It has great features with exporting subitems.

That looks pretty good, but does it generate excel files or just pdf/doc?

I just checked template settings and it’s letting me use excel as well.

ou’re right, there’s no native way to export only the subitems of one specific item.

The Excel export will always include the full structure, which is why it comes out messy. I’m not aware of a marketplace app that can selectively export just one item’s subitems either.

Your best workaround would be using the API or restructuring so those subitems live in their own board for easier filtering and exporting.
