Formula- Consecutive Months Worked

Hello I am looking for help either building a formula or maybe an automation I am not sure which one I am looking for.
The Use Case
We employ hourly employees on a 9-Month contract. This contract is the total number of months worked so if they work January february and may the total number of months worked would be 3 and not 5. I am hoping to upload the distribution of funds data witha a date column into monday and have monday be able to count the number of months worked for an individual.

How would you go about this? I have a few half baked ideas but I wanted to come to the community for some more insights and questions to get me thinking about this process a little more.

Hey @aza.rose

What are you doing for timesheets? Would love to understand what the distribution of funds data includes. I bet we could figure something out together

Hi Aza,

There are many ways to do it. Here is maybe the simplest one:

Hope it helps.

Want to take your formulas to the next level? Try the Advanced Formula Booster, the app that reinvents formulas in monday.

  • Create formulas without using the Formula column (and avoid its limitations)
  • Build formulas involving data from the previous item, the next item, the sub-items, the parent item, even items in the same group or the same board.
  • In one formula, update multiple columns from multiple items.

Check our blog for real use cases.
