Headers or "Subgrouping"

It would be very beneficial for me to have Headers which allow groups to be nested under a specific topic (that could then be collapsed) or potentially the option for a main group, with subgroups.

For example
Dashboard on Movies

HEADER or MAIN GROUP: Disney Movies
Group 1: Mulan
Group 2: Beauty and the Beast
Group 3: Moana

HEADER or MAIN GROUP: Harry Potter Movies
Group 1: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Group 2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Group 3: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Additionally, the ability to add a description to groups and “headers” would be very beneficial.

Imagine that there are many tasks under each group within each Header or Main Group. I do not have a workaround because I could not think of one. I’m open to workaround suggestions!

I am fairly certain I have previously seen that MONDAY are working on ‘Sub-tasks’, but unsure.

Really like the idea of having a description on the groups/headers. This would be particularly useful when information relates to the project / group as a whole as opposed to individual aspects. I have also found MONDAYs description a little limited

:grinning:

Thanks for your comment, @SamChristophers! I did see that ‘sub-tasks’ is something the MONDAY team is looking at, and I actually need that in addition to the header/sub-grouping functionality. Taking it back to my original example, sub-tasks would be sequels/related movies.

+1 vote for group descriptions - would be super valuable!

Please!! Super valuable feature!

This is a really great way to organize items and tasks. Whether it is called “Headers” or introduce the idea of “Sub-Groups”, this can help make complex boards more simple.

I use this same concept in other workflow management software, as well as Pivot Tables in Excel. My vote is in!

Agreed! The ability to group items by more than one layer of groupings would take functionality provided with the sorting feature and make it so much more useful! Please add sub-group functionality!
