How We Replaced Connect Boards + Mirror Columns With a Smarter Sync
If you’ve been using monday.com for a while, you’ve probably tried keeping boards connected using Connect Boards + Mirror Columns.
It works… until your workspace grows.
That’s exactly what happened to us.
We had items living on multiple boards — Sales, Product, Support, Ops — and we were mirroring a few columns back and forth. But after some time we noticed:

Only some columns were mirroring

Comments didn’t move

Subitems stayed behind

Links broke if someone renamed or reorganized something

And everything felt slow and manual
At some point we realised:
“We don’t need mirrored columns. We need the same item everywhere.”
The problem with Connect Boards + Mirror Columns
For smaller setups, Connect Boards is fine.
But when multiple teams need to work on the same item, it becomes tiring to maintain.

The item now lives on all boards at once
