Improve Search in Connect Board Columns

When searching for an item to connect to in a connect board column, we often have several items on the board we’re connecting to with the same name. While we can click “open item page” for the pop-up to determine the right item to connect to, there’s no way to either select the item that’s open or close the pop-up window and return to the search results. Closing the pop-up closes the search and you have to start all over. Would be very helpful for the pop-up window to work independently of the search so closing the pop-up keeps your search open. Additionally, it would be wonderful to be able to select/deselect the item from the pop-up window.
