Include automations and basic workflows in Managed Templates

I’ve got a feature request I think would be a huge win for Managed Templates. While they’re great for replicating board structure, a critical piece is missing: automations and basic workflows aren’t included.

The Problem

Right now, even when I use a Managed Template, I still have to manually add all the essential automations and workflows. This is incredibly time-consuming and frankly, exhausting. Just this week, I duplicated 2 workflows across 30 boards – that’s setting up automations 3 times for each of those 30 boards! It’s a massive repetitive drain.

My Proposal

I’m proposing we gain the ability to include pre-configured automations and essential workflows directly within Managed Templates. Imagine creating a template with your key automations (status changes, notifications, etc.), and having them automatically apply to any new board created from it, or even update on existing instances when you publish changes.

Why This Matters

This enhancement would bring major benefits:

  • Huge Time Savings: No more endlessly duplicating automations and workflows. This would eliminate a ton of manual, repetitive work.
  • Smoother start: Boards would be fully functional from day one, reducing errors and speeding up processes.
  • Better Consistency: It ensures all boards from a template follow the same standardized procedures.

By making Managed Templates truly comprehensive, including all the automations that make a board tick, monday.com would help users like me be far more productive and efficient.
