When you create a new item in the automations panel it’s possible to map the files column from the existing board to the new board. However, this feature doesn’t exist in the Workflow center.
Unfortunately, this means we won’t be able to completely simplify our automations and will still have to have a step that exists outside of the workflow on the board because we need to maintain files from one object to another.

You could set up a simple flow in Make or Zapier that downloads files from your existing Monday board and uploads them onto the new item you create elsewhere. It’s not as seamless as native functionality, but it does keep everything organized without too much hassle.
