Include Subitems in Progress Column in Parent Item

I’d love to see the ability for subitems to be included in the progress tracking column of the parent item. For example, if I’m breaking down a piece of marketing campaign into subitems or tasks, it would be really helpful to see the status of the subitems apply in the parent items progress tracking.

Or if there’s a similar function that already exists, please let me know!

Agreed. The Status Column of the sub items needs to be reflected in the parents progress bar. This will give a true total progress of the parent item as one works their way through the sub items.

Surprised to see how little votes this has. This was the first thing I tried when learning about Progress Tracking column. Would love to see an update from Monday since this has been out there since 2022.

A few other thoughts:

  1. If a tracked column does not have a value (e.g. no status set) it should be calculated as 0%.
  2. Gantt chart should reflect the progress of each item via progress bar color corresponding to the calculated value in the Progress Tracking field.
  3. Nice to have: a Progress Tracking for groups based on parent items progress calculation.
  4. Report/widget for Progress Tracking
