Linking (multiple) account(s) to a project

Hi there!

I’m checking out the suitability of Monday.com for my team’s use case, so I thought I’d just ask on this forum if this type of setup could work.

First, we’re a team that has partners rather than customers. We’re the customers, if you will. It’s a topsy-turvy way to use a CRM system, but our partnerships create value for both us and our partners so none of the vendor management tools we’ve seen so far are what we need. Monday.com looks like it might be flexible enough to work in our ecosystem.

My team often runs RFPs, sometimes with brand new partners, sometimes with existing partners, sometimes with a mix of both, and sometimes with just one new/existing partner.

What I’d like to do is create a project for each new RFP, and link accounts to the RFP. Even better would be to link opportunities in each account to the project. So, if the RFP was called “Launch ad campaign in Burkina Faso”, and we asked Partner A, Partner B, and potential new Partner C to submit proposals, we’d have an opportunity in each account with this name where we’d collect the proposals, but then a Project page where we could see an overview of all the proposals. The overall project page is then where various teams could look to compare the pricing submitted by the partners, as well as the answers they provide to our RFP questions. The Partner Managers can also access each Opportunity separately to make notes about the individual submissions from each Partner, manage communications with the Partner, and mark whether the Partner is moved forward for further consideration for the RFP or not.

Is this something that we could flex Monday.com to do, do you reckon?

I think the main thing is whether I could link a Project to multiple Opportunities in multiple Accounts.

Based on the information provided, short answer, YES!

Long answer:
There are many ways you could craft this within monday, in a single product such as monday CRM, or with a combination of CRM and Work Management (which I’d recommend).

You can use connect columns in monday to “link” multiple RFPs back to a single opportunity cross boards and products. And depending on how involved your partners are in the full workflow, you could add them as guests or full account members.

And for visualizing the info from proposals, you could use monday forms and have partners submit that way, or use an app to scan data out of a document.

The opportunities for building this out on monday are boundless. I you want to discuss in more detail more, grab some time with our team for a free workflow exploration, where we can talk deeper and assess if your needs are truly possible with monday.

A little context about us: we’re a platinum partner, Advanced delivery partner (recognized as a top partner globally for custom implementation), and we’re specialists in CRM.

Forgot to add,

your desired hierarchy of PROJECT > Multiple opportunities > RFPs is absolutely achievable.

Thanks for your detailed explanation! That all sounds quite positive in terms of what we’re hoping to achieve. Much appreciated your taking the time to answer.
