Each new customer needs to be treated as a project, as each one has it’s own unique requirements. Within this projects the individual elements can be treated as processes. The difference between individual projects is the order, timing and which processes are included.
Questions:
Can I connect together project and process boards so that the board triggers an account to be created on a process board and for completion of the project to trigger the project stage status to be changed to complete?
Is this the best way to address my need (moderate complexity project where individual elements are processes)?
Do you have an alternate suggestion for resolving this need?
In addition to the above, I want to have the sales process create a new line in the sales handover process, and have this trigger the creation of a new project from a template. This will then need to be modified based on our customer success planning workshop.
Yes, you can connect together project and process boards in monday.com so that the board triggers an account to be created on a process board and for completion of the project to trigger the project stage status to be changed to complete.
The Connect Boards Column allows you to link items from one board to another and could create a Connect Boards Column on your project board and link each item to the corresponding process board.
When an item is completed on the project board, the corresponding process board will be updated to reflect this. You can also use the Connect Boards Column to trigger automations
Another option for resolving this need would be to use a dashboard. You could create a dashboard that shows the project board and the process board side-by-side.
If you need a simple solution that is easy to set up and maintain, then connecting the two boards using the Connect Boards Column is a good option. If you need a more complex solution that allows you to track more information, then using a dashboard may be a better option.
