Links Embedded in Form fields

I have encountered this issue for months, but just now it became worse in the sense that the links are no longer working. Whenever pasting a link into a field in the forms, Monday.com has been automatically including words before/after the link as part of the hyperlink. Today, I’ve started to encounter the links no longer working because the word is actually being included in the link.

If I copy and paste the hyperlink from the text below, this is what I get: Page not found,

(“FRI,” should not be included!)

Hi @syoussef ,

Could you provide a bit more context? Is this issue occurring with a Monday.com form or an external form? Additionally, where is the data being outputted—directly into a Monday board or somewhere else?

I’ve tested a Monday.com form with a link field, and it seems to work as expected when the data is displayed on Monday boards. The links appear correctly and function without any issues.

If the issue persists, as a workaround, I’d recommend using a URL shortener like Bitly to minimize the chances of extra characters being appended to the hyperlink. This can help ensure the links remain clean and functional.

Let me know if you need further assistance!

This doesn’t look like a monday issue:

Are you copying the link from MS Teams?

This is a known Teams issue where it will also copy the name of the person you are chatting to

Hi thanks for responding. It’s a Monday.com form (not a board) and it’s a link to an external website. Also, I have tried bitly and tiny url to shorten but no luck… copying and pasting a link often ends up somehow connecting a word both visibly when I preview the form and in the hyperlink when I click on it.

So, in summary, if I paste a link into the text box at the top of the form or a question in the form, then I preview the form, clicking on the link doesn’t direct me to the external site I’m trying to reach.

Thank again!

Yes, as stated I am creating a Monday.com form. No connection whatsoever with Teams.

I have seen similar. If you are going into a text field try switching it to a link field.

Hi Steve, how do you switch to a link field?

Hi @syoussef - check out the information in this post I found - it turns out you can use html coding to add a hyper link into the form description. I was having the same issue you were having and this is a great fix!
