It seems like this was asked here but not replied to.
I run tours for groups, and I want the ability to customize an automation, ideally with a button, that moves an entire group (which is how I deal with my tours) from the “Ongoing Tours” board to the "Completed Tours’ board.
ie, the button should
move all those items, as a group, to another board
remove that group from the “Ongoing Tours” board
is it true that this is not currently possible?
at the moment the workarounds seem to be
creating a button that i can click on each task [though I would still need to manually delete the group]
clicking “move this group” which requires me to scroll to the right board.
This seems like an automizable thing, no?
There are couple of ways you can probably go about it:
Option 1:
Have you tried select all and then move to the desired board? That is pretty simple and shouldn’t only take 2-3 clicks. Something that is natively present within Monday.
It is possible to create an automation to trigger the movement of an item to a pre-selected board (Archived board let’s say). Just add an automation in the board, something like
Move the item to Board “Archived” when Status is “Archive”
The only thing you’ll have to do in this is to select and change their status to “Archive”. The automation will handle the rest.
Option 2:
A couple of times when I’ve worked with travel agencies, we’ve setup the workflow in even more automated way. All the tours have an end date.
It is actually possible to create an automation to move an item to the archive board (with the same logic above) expect when their archiving date is approaching.
And to set it up, we added an extra date column “Archive date” and just add the date to it when you want this item/project to be auto archived.
