I see some people were discussing this is 2021 so I hope it has been released since then. Maybe I can’t do it because I need to request a product release?
I need to have a parent board with all our or company’s contacts visible.
Each department (sales, accounting, HR, etc.) has their own CRM contacts board, all boards have the exact same columns.
I would like to have all of the contacts sync to a parent/master/mega board in batch (on button click) and fill in corresponding mirror columns.
Goal being, when we send out an invite to all of the company’s contacts from the master board list for an event, as we get notice of email changes, address changes, and RSVP replies, we can update it in the master/parent board and the corresponding child board will be updated, and vice vera if they make a change to the address or email columns.
I have seen a video of someone doing this, but I cannot figure it out. I only have button automations to create and connect board, but that maps to static columns not mirror fields, and I have create. Again not to mirror columns.
Sorry if I didnt explain this well. Thanks for the help.
Is there a reason you don’t want mirror columns on the parent board? ‘Simple option’ is to use mirror columns.
Outside of that - you might look at the app called Same Item Multiple Boards. You can set it so that when an item is created one place, it auto creates/syncs the item elsewhere and updates sync both ways.
Ah, gotcha! I misunderstood. For the existing items, just add the connected column and set up which column you want to connect. Then add a status column (you can delete it once done).
Go to ‘Automations’ at top and then click on ‘Create’ and search for “LOGIC”. The middle recipe is what I’d use for existing items. You’ll set it up to pick the other board you want to link to and which column you want to match them based on ie name, company etc. Use the ‘helper column’ from above as the trigger.
Then once you’ve set that up, go back to your board and multiselect and change the status to ‘done’ on that helper column we added.
