I have a form and it requires us to choose our director from a people column. I want the options to be limited to only the directors. Is this possible?
People columns aren’t currently supported in WorkForms, but you could do a Status type column with a list of your directors, and then set up a series of automations that when the item is created from the form, it will assign the correct person to the person column based on their name being selected on the form. I use this feature all the time - here’s an example of the automation recipe:
Hi Laura. I currently use that type of automation. I was just hoping that there was a way to do it without this workaround. Thank you.
Yes, it is possible to limit the options in your form’s people column to only include directors. To achieve this, you can use a combination of SharePoint or your chosen platform’s filtering capabilities and user permissions. First, create a list or a directory that includes only the directors. Then, set the form’s people column to reference this specific list. By doing so, the dropdown will display only the names of the directors, ensuring that users can select from a limited, predefined group. This approach not only streamlines the selection process but also enhances the accuracy of the data collected. Regard Multipack uae
