Description
When a board view is grouped or sorted by a specific column (for example, Status, Date, or any other field), new items that are created or filtered into that view often appear blank in certain columns. This causes extra manual work to fill in those fields so the item appears in the correct group or timeline.
It would be helpful if Monday.com added an option, automation, or workflow step that allows new items to automatically inherit the grouped or sorted column’s value from the view they appear in. For example, if a view is grouped by “Week of October 14” (Date column) and a new item is added within that group, that new item should automatically populate its Date field with “October 14, 2025.”
This would help maintain organization in grouped and sorted table views and save time manually updating repetitive or predictable values.

I want new items that appear in a grouped or sorted table view to automatically inherit the grouped column’s value (for example, Date, Week, or Status) instead of starting blank.
