As stated it would have been great to have an opportunity to lock down certain values in Status & Drop Down columns, so that when updating these columns people can’t add their own variants, selecting only from the existing ones.
Locking down the whole column does not solve the problem as people need to be able to update columns, just not invent their own statuses or drop down values.
