Hey everyone—I have tried a few different methods for solving my problem and haven’t been able to resolve it. Would love to resolve it without another paid app, but if a paid app is the answer, would love input on which one because I get a little overwhelmed with the options.
Essentially, I have one workform that is collecting complex expense data for a large project. Multiple clients (70+) use the form monthly to submit their expenses to us. I want to pull linked data from that form into individual dashboards viewable by each client. But I also need to pull in data from another board (the client’s overall budget from our master budget spreadsheet that is frequently updated).
I can’t just create the views I want from the main workform table because I need to be able to pull that overall budget data in from the other board. I tried using the workform to connect to the different boards via the Monday Labs board question feature and I thought that had solved it, but I didn’t realize that guests/viewers can’t see mirrored columns. (What a terrible idea, but that’s a story for another day.) I don’t want to give viewers/guests (still not sure which role is best to use) permission to view the entire main form board because I don’t want them to see other clients expenses.
We currently collect this complex data through Smartsheets but don’t really like a lot of things about it and really want to integrate this process into our Monday workflows. (Sad there is no Smartsheets integration which could be a workaround.) But, we really need our clients to be able to see via some sort of dashboard view where they are in their budget as we approve or deny expenses, preferably without manually updating nearly 100 budgets across boards (really need that data to come from a master board).
