Status columns, and the default state

Hello all … I am still a bit new to Monday, so please forgive me if this has been asked before …
when using automations … is there a way to force a status column to go back to the default value … By default … I mean the the value that’s always present in the list of status values, and cannot be deleted or colourised…

What I am looking for is something like this … When Status A changes to something, Change Status B to Default … or maybe When Status A changes to something, reset Status B …

If you change the label for the default on Status B to something other than blank, say “X”, then setup the automation to change Status B to “X” then change the label on the default back to blank (or leave it “X” if you want) it will work.
