Turn off E&A for connected boards or specific email columns.
What are you trying to achieve
For boards that have multiple email columns and/or have connect board columns, have a toggle that will turn on or off the logging of emails to any email column or connect board column.
For example, I have a board where I want to email parents. Parents have a connect board column to their schools. I don’t want to see in the E&A of the schools emails sent to the parents. I would like to turn it off.
Hi @DavidSchenkler, if you find yourself frequently toggling the view in Emails & Activities and want a cleaner way to work through long threads, you could consider Email to Task for monday.com. It lets you convert an email directly into an item with structured fields (owner, status, date, etc.) so you’re not relying on the built-in email view at all - everything becomes part of your board workflow where you get consistent layouts and easier scanning.
There’s a 14-day trial, and happy to walk through the setup on a quick demo if helpful.
I completely understand the challenge here; when using connected boards, the automatic logging in Emails & Activities can blur context between related but independent entities (like Parents and Schools in your case).
Currently, E&A logging follows the item relationship structure, so when items are connected, activity visibility can extend across linked records. Unfortunately, there isn’t a native toggle to control logging behavior per email column or per connected board column.
I agree that more granular control, especially the ability to isolate email logs to specific entities, would make CRM-style workflows much cleaner in multi-relationship setups.
This would be particularly useful in scenarios where communication relevance differs across connected entities, as in your example.
