Turn-off Files Gallery (Or make it display from Files columns)

I do not want users to store documents directly in Monday. The New Files column is great for letting us maintain links. However the addition of the Files Gallery causes confusion since those links do not display and it only supports uploads.

Ideally I would like it to display the linked docs from any Files column and be able to configure it to default to the preferred file saving option (in this case GDOCS). In short term, I would like the option of turning that view off on a board.

@mtuckerkm Yes I use google files as well and need file links to also show in the File Gallery.

Very frustrating they are not there. I wonder why?

I agree - it would be helpful if linked files would appear in the files gallery, our team does not upload files but links directly to various files on our GDrive. Without linked files appearing in the files gallery, it is not useful to our team.

If this was available, it’d be a great view for our team.
