It is currently not possible to refer to a person assigned in a People column, when creating automatic Updates or Notifications with Workflows.
I can either refer to the user triggering the change or the item’s Creator ID (see below), but somehow I cannot refer to the People column itself. I.e., it is not possible to chose e.g. the ‘Owner’ or ‘Person’ assigned to an item.
An example of an use case: I would like to automatically notify Person A, whenever a project lead assigns Person B to an item in my board.
Right now, I can trigger the notification when I want, but because I can’t refer to Person B in my notification, I can’t actually explain what has happened.
Please note: This is possible to do with automations, but not workflows.
