Adjust timeline end date based on date column of actual end date if sooner

I have a timeline column and a actual completion date column. When the actual completion date column is populated, if the date is before the timeline end date, i want the timeline to reflect the new end date.

Ie. Planned project timeline end date was 31st March. Actual date was 20th March. so timeline needs to update to show that sprint ended on the 20th March

@Calgat This can be done using one of the formula apps in the marketplace or the no-code tool Make (or similar).

I don’t think theres a way to do it that way around without using something like Zapier or Make. But you can use the new AI feature on the date column if you update the end date on the timeline.
You use the prompt “Same as end” it will update if the date column when the timeline end updates.

Hello @Calgat

You can do this with monday’s Workflow Builder if you have an Enterprise monday.com account.

Set up the following Workflow automation:

This will set you up so that “When status changes to Done, update timeline end date to be today’s day”.

I hope that helps your use case!
