Automatic timelines

Hi,

I regularly engage team members for specific projects, on ‘standard’ contracts having a defined timeline (e.g. SHORT = 6 months, MED = 12 months, LONG = 18 months). At times, members are shifted from one contract to another, meaning their end date could change.

I need to create a system where I can add team members+starting date+contract type (and associated duration) to show me the timeline and at a set time during the contract, something is triggered…either the STATUS changes to something or I’m notified.

For example: Peter is on SHORT, starting on 01/01/2024, so 1 month before the end either STATUS changes or I’m notified, or something happens to flag Peter.

I’ve tried so many combinations I’m going slightly mad…!

I’m sure you have, but have you had a chance to try two connected boards?

  • Database of members with essential details
  • Connected contract board with contract details, start date, formula calculating end and some time-automated or status-connected notifications?

This was the rough pattern suggested at a recent Monday training I attended.

Thanks for that…it’s what I ended up doing. One board for team members and a board for each contract type, all linked. Looks a bit messy, but it works for now.
