Board Activity Log does not capture updates on 'Text' columns

When an update is made on a ‘Text’ column of an item, the event does not appear on the board activity log. Is there a way updates on ‘Text’ columns can be tracked?

Hey @aditya.mandavi I have this issue too for a board I manage.

To help monitor updates or view changes in ‘Text’ columns on Monday.com, you could utilize the platform’s Activity Log and Board Filters:

  1. Activity Log:
  • Navigate to the specific board containing the ‘Text’ column.
  • Click on the Activity Log icon, typically located at the top right corner of the board.
  • In the Activity Log, you’ll find a chronological list of all changes made within the board, including edits to ‘Text’ columns.
  • Use the search bar or filters within the Activity Log to focus on updates related to the ‘Text’ column.
  1. Board Filters:
  • On your board, click on the Filter icon.
  • Set up filters to display items based on specific criteria, such as recent changes or updates by a particular user.
  • While this method doesn’t show the exact changes in ‘Text’ columns, it helps in identifying which items have been updated.
  1. You could set up notifications specifically for changes to the ‘Text’ column. Here’s how:

. Create a Custom Automation:

  • Go to your board and click on the Automation button at the top.
  • Choose “Create Custom Automation” or use an existing template.
  • Set the trigger to something like “When [Text Column] changes.”
  • Define the action as “Notify [person]” or “Send an email.”
. Use Notifications to Stay Informed:
  • Once the automation is active, you’ll receive notifications whenever there’s a change to the ‘Text’ column.
  • Notifications will appear in your Inbox or be sent to your email, depending on your settings.

This ensures you’re always updated on specific changes to the ‘Text’ colum

By leveraging these features, it can help you track and review changes made to ‘Text’ columns on your Monday.com boards. Perhaps a new Feature request as you still need to do some work to notice the changes!

I hope this helps
