When creating a formula column in a subitem and choosing the Column choice of GROUP, the formula returns “Subitems”. Can we please get this formula to actually return the real value of Group associated with the parent item?

I agree. Seems like a bug to me.
This is not the answer you’re looking for but in case you need an immediate solution, please be aware that the Advanced Formula Booster, a 3rd-party app that breaks free of the Formula column, does return the correct group name.
I love your product. I have been testing it recently. My issue frankly is that for subitems i cannot conditionally invoke the call to your solution. That means a call would be initiated for every single subitem unless I use multiple flag columns to control these conditions. In the end, for me this doesn’t improve my current configuration. If the subitem conditional app execution was in place I would switch to your app tomorrow.
