I have a very massive board and in the board several Columns are clustered together to capture certain data. I was just thinking that it would be super awesome If we could (Select MULTIPLE Columns) and have a setting to color shade the columns ⊠that way we can have a nice visual of the clusters / phases.
A subtle grey alternating each Pulse row would be helpful, too. On wider/larger screens itâs difficult to track what pulse Iâm in unless I click it, close the update and the pulse stays highlighted⊠extra work.
This would be a massive deal for us! I am currently working on a board to calculate the cost of a complete project. The board has a lot of Numbers Columns and Function Columns and it is super important for users to know exactly, which Columns are to fill and which just show resulting data.
This feature is a no-brainer. So much easier to visualize related data via color.
I would expect
Ability to set background color for columns.
Ability to set background color for rows.
Ability to easily set alternating rows for color.
Ability to set color by cell.
Ability to set column heading color.
Ability to toggle column/row/cell colors on/off. Maybe in filter menu. Exclude from label columns.
The color would be a background color so color coded cells like âLabelsâ would rest on top of the background color.
I would love to see
Ability to change color of row or column based on trigger.
I think that would be really useful. For example, if time passed on a deadline field then the whole row for that record would change red. That would be cool.
Ability to change color of column based on where the data is from.
Linked data columns could each be color coded to the board they originally came from. The linked columns could then be laid out on the new board in a way that makes most sense for the data use in that board, but still maintain an easy way to visualize where all the data came from.
Ability to flash color.
Combined with a trigger, the row would flash color. Settings could adjust flash rate, flash acceleration, color change. For example, a row could be set to flash red when a deadline has passed. A row could be set to flash red faster as a deadline approaches. A row could be set to flash steady (or faster) and change from yellow to red as a deadline approaches. Another example, the row could change color based on an amount in another field going up or down (stock ticker). Or, the row could flash based on the probabilistic outcome of another formula in the table (WARNING - WARNING failure imminent). The row could be part of an integration with a dialer to bring up a record (row) and flash when the call connects or is incoming.
I strongly believe that adding this kind of basic functionality will really inspire the creativity of your partners, developers and user base. We will all be amazed at what Monday can do next, with this tiny tweak now.
Wouldnât hold your breath, requested exactly this ( with alot of support) about 2 years ago, still nothing, itâs a basic function at best and would be invaluable for accounting boards and visual ease of use
Iâm still in a bit of a shock that this feature doesnât exist.
Itâs not like it wasnât in excel for a decade or so and still a very valuable tool for design order.
I hope we get the option to change shading/colors of columns soon⊠havenât seen any change regarding this during the last 3 years that Iâve been using Monday
