Rather than having to choose between a date column or a timeline column, I’d rather have them combined into one column with maybe a checkbox option for selecting a date range if I need to. So, it would default to selecting only one date, but if I wanted to select a date range, I would check a “timeline” or “date range” check box (similar to the “add time” checkbox) and then I would be able to select a range instead. I really don’t like having to always predict whether I’m going to need a date range or not when selecting my columns, and I don’t like that I can’t put times of the day on my timelines. It feels like it would be most intuitive to have one column that handles all kinds of dates.
