Creating graphs / dashboards / widgets with multiple columns (e.g. timestamps or timeseries)

Hi all,

In Monday, line plots work great if the x and y information is nicely stored into two seperate columns. However, if you have your x-axis information stored as different columns (e.g. first columns = t1, second column = t2 etc.), you cannot visualize the data.

It would be great to see the possibility to select multiple columns as your x-axis for graphs.

Kind regards,

Jeannot

I see there have been no answers to this. Frustrating. I need to do this as well.

I definitely agree - It would be very useful to be able to show two graphs or bars that do not get their values from the same column in same visualization!

Having this would solve a lot of different problems I have with trying to chart lines using occurrence dates based on different data values, instead of having to do complicated workarounds involving creating new items in new boards based on when different dates get updated so that they’re all using a new ‘updated date’ column (which even that still requires manual updates as a result, meaning that I can’t truly have automated boards half the time to get the data I want/need)

Waiting for a Monday support reply to this.

@oliverjoonatan if a 3rd party add-on is an option, I suggest taking a look at the Analytics & Reports by Screenful. It supports tracking multiple multiple metrics in a single chart (line or bar charts). Here’s an example of a bar chart displaying data from three different number columns:

what is max x axis columns supported by this app?

Multiple column X axis graphs would be VERY helpful!

You can add as many as you want but at some point chart becomes unreadable as values start overlapping. Here’s an example chart with 10 columns in three groups:

You can group by columns in your board or by week/month/quarter

Hello! At www.leanmote.com, we’ve developed an integration that addresses this issue. It provides pre-built metrics with timestamps, comparison periods, targets, and notifications. Additionally, you can connect other productivity tools like Slack, GitHub, and more to enhance your workflow.

@Jeannot, great point! While Monday.com’s default chart options have some limitations when working with multiple columns for time-series data, Time In Status for monday.com provides its own built-in reports that can help visualize this data more effectively and also you can integrate time in status data monday.com dashboards

How Time In Status Can Help:

:white_check_mark: Dedicated Time Tracking Reports – The Time In Status board automatically tracks how long items spend in each status, providing clear insights into workflow efficiency.

:white_check_mark: Visualize with Monday Dashboards – While Time In Status has its own reports, you can integrate its data into Monday.com’s dashboard widgets. Simply pull Time In Status data into Monday’s native charts to build custom visualizations that best fit your needs.

:white_check_mark: Export for Advanced Graphs – If you need a more customized approach, you can export time tracking data from Time In Status and use it in Monday’s graphs and charts, giving you flexibility in how you display trends over time.

This means you get detailed insights from Time In Status reports while still leveraging Monday.com’s dashboard capabilities to create tailored charts and visualizations.
