Under the “pro” subscription the CRM boards are only pre created for the main workspace. If I want to have the same boards for a different workspace then I would have to start from scratch by customizing a CRM space. I created an “Accounts” board and a “Contacts” board and I linked both to each other… Now, if I have to delete an account then I want the contacts to be erased simultaneously. Since the forum and live agent were not helpful as much, I decided to go with a roundabout option:
- Create a connection between both boards and treat the “Accounts” board as the master board.
- Create a status column in the master board that I could select “Delete” and have this status trigger a deletion of the item (“Account”).
- Have a mirror column in the child board “Contacts” of the status column.
- Create two automations for the “Contacts” board:
- Inside the automation space, type “280” to find a premade automation recipe that will allow you to utilize the mirror column: "When “Status (Mirror Column)” changes to “Delete”, change “Delete trigger” to “Delete”. Note: “Delete trigger” is a new status column you have to create in the child board to use as a trigger.
- Custom recipe: "When “Delete trigger” changes to “Delete” delete item.
It works for me. Both account and the contacts linked to it delete automatically… However, I would prefer to have a button that would do this in a more seamless way.
Also, the premade recipe 280 and other ones… should either be shown in the template center more explicitly or be allowed for custom made recipes.
