I would like to create an automation or workflow between connected boards so that when a duplicate task is created in a board than it flags line item as duplicate in other connected board.
For example; When X task is created by Y person in Z board. flag X task as duplicate (look up Y person name) in A board.

This can potentially be achieved with the use of a 3rd party app like VLOOKUP, however the way I’m reading your example, searching by person won’t understand if the task is a duplicate. It will tell you the same person is assigned to two items in separate board.
I recommend installing the app and testing to see if you can use that - just be sure to duplicate your current boards and test on the duplicates so you can continue uninterrupted with normal work as well. Simply search for ‘vlookup’ in the app marketplace and it should be easy to find.

What are your conditions for the item being a duplicate? Is it the item name being an exact match or some other condition?
