I’m setting up templates in the Emails & Activities app and I’m struggling to not only keep the templates organized, but to direct users on which templates to use for which boards.
-
If you create a template in one board, it shows up as an available template in all the boards! This is a problem when using the {}Columns because each board has different columns and data sets, so users just have to know (or guess) which templates belong to which boards.

The current area to manage templates is only available if you open an item and start an email draft, and that area is only about 2 inches by 2 inches wide. I currently only have about 10% of our company email templates set up and it’s already unmanageable. You can’t read the full title of most templates. Although the search bar is a nice touch, it’s not enough. Email Templates should have their own settings page or area where you can view the full list of templates available for the entire account. On that page you should be able to:
- Create/edit each template
- Assign the template to specific boards
- Assign the template to specific users
-
When using a template made with {}Columns, you can’t see the data that’s being inserted into the email draft before sending it. Every CRM I’ve used previously had this basic capability. For example, if the template says,
- “Hi {name}, Your invoice for project #{project #} is now available…”,
then the {}Columns should show the specified column data in my email draft similar to this: - “Hi Jane, Your invoice for project #123 is now available…”.
- “Hi {name}, Your invoice for project #{project #} is now available…”,
Monday Team, please let me know if any of these features are in the works!
