How the Time in Status Feature Works

Our app dynamically calculates “Time in Status” values directly from your Activity Log. However, considering that Activity Logs are automatically cleaned after several months (see monday.com Activity Log documentation), we offer specialized automation to permanently store these valuable insights.

Detailed Item-Level Insights

Within the Item View, you’ll clearly see how long an item has spent in each individual status. Accompanied by an intuitive pie chart, the SLA App visualizes both the total accumulated time and the proportional distribution across various statuses.

You can conveniently switch between different units of measurement, such as seconds, minutes, and hours. The following example displays the time in hours and minutes (hh:mm)

Comprehensive Board View

The SLA App’s Board View conveniently aggregates the “Time in Status” data, displaying each item’s duration in every status as a comprehensive table:

  • First Pie Chart: Quickly view the number of items in each status. The pie’s center shows the total number of items.
  • Second Pie Chart: Examine the total duration that items collectively spent in each status, effectively highlighting where time is predominantly spent. The center of this chart summarizes the total cumulative time.
  • Detailed Table: Shows the item names, current statuses, individual and total durations in each status, as well as a stacked bar chart illustrating the proportional time allocation per status.

Additionally, tailor your analyses based on your item groupings to align perfectly with your needs.
