Enhanced Button Functionality in Emails

I would like to suggest a new feature that would significantly enhance the usability of the button column when sending emails from Monday.com.

Currently, when we include a button column in an email, the button simply displays the text we’ve set (e.g., “Click Me”). While this is useful for providing a visual cue, it would be even more powerful if the button could also trigger the automations associated with that button when clicked.

Here’s a breakdown of the proposed feature:

  • Clickable buttons in emails: When a button column is included in an email, the button should be clickable and linked directly to the associated automation.
  • Customizable button text: Users should be able to customize the button text to provide more context and encourage clicks.
  • Clear visual indicators: The button should have a distinct appearance to clearly indicate its clickable nature.

Benefits of this feature:

  • Improved user experience: Users who may not be familiar with all the automations can easily complete tasks by simply clicking a button.
  • Increased efficiency: By automating tasks triggered by button clicks, users can save time and reduce errors.
  • Greater flexibility: This feature would provide more options for customizing email templates and tailoring them to specific use cases.

Example use case:
Imagine a project management board where tasks have buttons labeled “Complete,” “In Progress,” and “Blocked.” When a team member clicks the “Complete” button in an email, the task’s status would automatically be updated to “Completed” and a notification could be sent to the project manager.

By implementing this feature, Monday.com would become an even more powerful tool for teams to collaborate and manage their work effectively.

I believe that this enhancement would greatly benefit the Monday.com community and make it easier for teams to achieve their goals.
