Ah, very interesting - thank you for flagging! I will share this with our team!
It still isnāt fixed. The issue is that the line breaks now āappearā and persist in the long descriptions, but when that column (or cell) is used in a any mirror or automation, it shows up as one large chunk of text. Weāre struggling with this constantly as we include repeated instructions for our staff in the long descriptions to pull into the appropriate spots in updates, emails, and other areas.
We are now asking staff to put the redundant text in a text editor, document, or wherever they wish to paste it in when they need it instead of having the information auto generated. It complicates things tremendously, and wastes time.
We estimate that the lack of persistent formatting (just line breaks not pretty) is costing us about 30 minutes a day per person. Thatās precious time that adds up.
I hope this adds some influence to the request. Weāve been battling with this for over a year. Thanks.
Youāre right. I noticed about 2 weeks ago the column was reverted back to not having line breaks again.
@Julietteb Can you look into this? It feels like this formatting is getting broken when a new update to Monday gets pushed or something. Itāll break, get fixed randomly, then break again some time later.
@Julietteb Following up here and bumping this thread
Bumping to try and get an answer on this
Can you give an update on the functionality to format in cells? And it should be OK for different rows to have different heights, the Portfolio owner is familiar in other tools to being able to adjust so it looks good āat a glanceā.
Not being able to format the long text column makes it especially difficult to use the Mass Email feature. Not having any line breaks at all in this column type or formatting makes it impossible to include columns with certain values. Would love to see this fixed / improved.
