Gantt Export to Excel Enhancement Features Request

Hi there,

We’d love to see improvements to the Gantt chart export to Excel functionality.

Here are the current limitations we’ve encountered:

  1. Custom Gantt settings, such as “Label By” and “Color By,” are not retained during the export process.
  2. The exported Excel sheet lacks a color legend, making it difficult to interpret the chart at a glance.
  3. The “Label By” field on the right of the exported chart always displays timelines, which are already listed on the left. It would be great if we could customize or remove this.
  4. On the horizontal top bar, under the month name, the starting date of each week is displayed as a number. It would be much more helpful to show the week number of the year (e.g., Week 44, Week 45).

Implementing these improvements would significantly enhance the Excel export experience for Gantt charts.

In addition to this, I’d like to see export option that matches the time-period view you have set in the view (weeks, months, quarters). Right now when you export it defaults to a quarter view which limits detail visibility and reduces the value of exporting.

It would also be great to define dates to export within the gantt. all project/board dates or limited time range.

Critical Path is missing as well from the export.
