Hey, see my workaround for this:
I understand your frustration with the default calendar setup—it can be a bit limiting, especially for collaborative projects. It would be fantastic to have more control over where tasks sync, allowing for better organization and sharing.
Have you explored https://calendargeek.com/ for more advice on calendar integration? They might have some useful insights to improve your workflow! Good luck!
It’s ridiculous that this isn’t a built in feature, I have at least 4 different calendars for work and personal use- the default calendar means I have to add an extra step to this integration of manually funneling appropriate info to that calendar which isn’t helpful to a team in consolidating information efficiently. The work arounds I’ve seen here are possible but shouldn’t be necessary.
Any updates on this??
I am in the process of developing an automation for this, @sam.cove @Wishaway @elbeha01 @electricdreamer Can you please let me know the exact recipes you are looking for?
I wanted to have a calendar that I share with my team that creates items from projects they create so there’s no need for each individual to enter a new item when it’s already there on the shared calendar. The two-way syncing was supposed to help avoid duplicate projects when they could easily update the calendar original. So beyond this feature, I experienced some recursive errors with the start/end dates relationship to the two-way syncing. If either the actual calendar event or the item connected to it was edited in any way the dates would continually update to one extra day I’m assuming for every auto-refresh. I came back to my board one morning and one of my items had an end date that was two years out from the original. This caused my actions to stack up beyond what I had allotted through my account. So I’ve decided to let this feature sit until it actually works completely.

Hey @andreamike @Eperkins @KatlynPersad @JenZucconi @afgindy @bhowell @JayRun @akalutkiewicz @booey811 @milica8 @dparibello @valeriemeiz @electricdreamer @elbeha01 @yaelco @wish @sam.cove @oliverjoonatan @Krishkg @amiller424
We developed an app called Google Calendar Integration Plus that provides a robust Google calendar and monday.com integration.
Here’s how it can be used in this case →
Simply select the calendar you want to connect →
Here are the key differences from monday’s native solution -
- Allows to select which calendar to use (not just the primary default)
- Supports subitems
- Much more flexible triggers - “no more sync every item”
- Allows full mapping - updates, invitees and more
- Allows to control the start & end date and time.
You can find it in the monday.com marketplace in the platform or here - Google Calendar Integration Plus - monday.com App Marketplace
Hope that helps
Any update on this @monday.com ??
