So I am syncing my google calendar to a board. When I do this it shows the date and start time, but doesn’t show the end time. Is there any way to sync the end time to a board from google calendar? Also on the calendar view it shows up as 30 minutes even if my invite is for longer than 30 minutes. Any way to get it to the full time on the calendar?
Hey! Shannon here with the monday team. Welcome to the monday Community. When it comes to the Google Calendar integration, I recommend setting up two Date Columns on your board, one which will house your start date and time and the other for your end date and time:
In your Google Calendar automation, the “item” field is where you will map the Google Calendar event fields to the columns on your board. Pictured below, on the left-hand side, are the existing columns on my board. On the right-hand side, I can select the Google Calendar event fields I’d like to map over to monday. You’ll see that there is a “Start time” and “End time” field for the Google Calendar event:
Since I have two Date Columns, I can map them separately to house both fields separately. Let me know if this helps!
Thank you, that helps alot. I do still see it show up as 30 minutes on calendar view. Is there anyway to make it span the start & end time?
Hi @drudd75077,
Setting a default duration like 60 or 90 minutes is an option in the calendar, but getting items to reflect both start and end times is a common challenge with monday’s built-in calendar view.
There’s an ongoing feature request around this issue that you can vote on to show your support.
In the meantime, if it fits your situation, there are third-party apps in the monday marketplace that offer more flexible calendar functionality. One such option is the Calendar Plus app, which includes a free tier that can display the items synced from your Google Calendar. (Disclosure: I’m one of the creators.)
Hope this helps!
Hey,
Many calendar integrations only pull the start time by default unless you explicitly map or enable the end time in the sync settings.
If the board or calendar view doesn’t support full-day or multi-hour events properly, it will default to 30 minutes, treating events as “standard” meetings.
How to fix it:
Check the integration or automation settings in your board tool:
- Go to the integration setup for Google Calendar.
- Look for an option to map both start and end times (sometimes it will say “Event end” or “End time”).
- If available, add a column for “End time” on your board and map it during the sync setup.
Use a calendar-specific column/view: - Some tools require you to use a “Date Range” or “Timeline” column to show full-duration events.
- Switch from a simple “Date” column to a “Date with time range” if your board supports it.
Adjust calendar view settings: - If your calendar view is still showing only 30 mins, it may be assuming a default duration.
- Find a setting like “Use end time” or “Display duration based on start and end” in the calendar widget or view settings.
Let me know if it helps!
