Increase the number of labels available in the status column. We are using this column type to track production releases for the year and we have more releases than labels available.

Just curious. Are you using the Status/Label column to represent each production release, rather than as a workflow status?
If that’s the case, that might be why you’re hitting the label limit so quickly. The Status column is generally designed more for tracking stages of work, so it only allows a certain number of labels.
If you’re mainly trying to identify which release something belongs to, a Dropdown column set to single select might work better. It behaves similarly to a status/label column but allows many more options.
But then you don’t get to color code but I mean you only have so many shades of a color before they all start to look the same.
