Help with subitem formula columns in automations

Hi there, I’ve been trying to create a subitem automation to notify subitem owners if a deadline has passed. The deadline is created using a formula column which I’m then unable to use in automations. The Mondays support team have been helpful in introducing some automations and pointing me in the direction of 3rd party apps to navigate the formula/automation issue. So far I have tried:

  • To mirror the formula column but I can’t as its a subitem
  • Using General Caster but there are limitations with formulas and subitems
  • using the formula feature in Autoboost which gave me some hope but I just can’t get the formula to work
    I used the following recipe in Autoboost: Used WHEN SUBITEM DATE CHANGES, apply a FORMULA, and set a result to DEADLINE

Hi Jo,

How do you want to calculate the deadline exactly? And what would you use as a trigger for this formula and how would this trigger the notification?

What if we could break free of the Formula column? and write formulas that update any type of columns? What if a formula could update multiple columns at once? This is possible with the Advanced Formula Booster app.
