When I work on a specific item, for example I am adding comments etc. Or maybe I shared the item link to a colleague etc, I think only the item selected should be clearly visible and I think that masking everything else adding a grey trasparent mask for example, could improve a lot the experience, especially for users who are not very familiar with the UI.
