This seems like it should be an easy thing to set up, but I’ve burned hours on it with no results so far.
I added a date column called ‘Last Interaction’ to my contacts board and I’d like to have it update with a new date when new activity is logged at Emails and Activity. I created an integration that goes ‘When activity is created in Emails & Activities, set Last interaction to today’, but the field doesn’t update when activity is logged.
I can see in the Loom video that you’re sending an email via the app. This wouldn’t be added to the activities board as an activity, whereas a Meeting or Call Summary would be.
Either of these two options should cause the automation to run, and then change the date as expected.
Are you able to give this a try and see if a meeting or call summary causes the date to change?
Unfortunately the email action isn’t currently categorised as an activity within the App at present.
You can then set up an additional automation to change the date column when the status changes.
I can definitely appreciate how this would be a useful addition to the platform for yourself, and I’m sure for other teams too, so I would highly recommend opening a thread in our Feature Request section.
Here other users who would also like this added to the platform will be able to upvote the feature!
