Immovable dates on a critical path

I’ve just created a critical path on my project board with dependancies. My deadline is fixed and shouldn’t be moved but when I update other tasks the date for this is pushed back. This is what I expect to happen, but I wonder if there’s a way to get the board to alert you when a specific date goes past the deadline?

Or alternatively shorten other windows of time rather than push back the final date?

The date in question isn’t a deadline but the date an event goes live so there’s no moving it!

Is this something that can be done?

Welcome to the community!. It looks like you are looking for a “Start-Finish” relationship (backward planning), that moves the start date of the predecessors. “Start-Finish” are not supported by the dependency column.
