Integrating "Docs" into Board Views

Identified Problem:

We have structured our processes using tables on Monday, which helps us centralize information and improve efficiency. However, the written documentation associated with these tables needs to be stored separately, making data management and access more complicated.

Proposed Solution:
Would it be possible to integrate the “Docs” feature directly into the available views of each table?
The goal is to allow users to attach and edit documents directly within their tables, eliminating the need to manage them in a separate space.

Expected Benefits:
:white_check_mark: Centralized information within a single table
:white_check_mark: Improved accessibility and real-time collaboration
:white_check_mark: Reduced time wasted switching between different storage locations

This enhancement would make Monday even more powerful and practical for process management.

Thank you in advance for considering this suggestion!

Hi,
We have an app that allows you to put a doc in a board view! It’s called Docs in Board View.

I understand what you’re saying about documentation being stored separately from its structure. Disorganized documentation results in a lot of wasted time looking for information. Processes like onboarding new employees could be improved with more organized Workdocs.

Right now the workflow looks like this:

  1. Create a new Docs in Board View
  2. Select an existing Workdoc via the app’s search box
  3. And you’re done!

To support your case of already having docs organized in a table/board (which is a great strategy!), we have plans to release features that will support 1) documentation organized in a board and 2) multiple docs in a view.

To your editing point: our view is read-only - users can see the doc, but not edit it. The use case we’re targeting is documenting processes and procedures, which means docs are more likely to be read than edited.

But each view does include a link that a user can click to easily edit the Workdoc. This seems like a pretty good compromise and prevents accidental edits/deletions in the Workdoc.

Here is what it looks like:

You can have multiple views each with their own Workdoc:

If there is a specific feature you’re looking for, I’d love to hear it!
