Is it possible to create a Dashboard Template and Recreate It in a Workspace Using Make.com?

I’d like to know if it’s possible to:

  1. Create a custom Dashboard in Monday.com.
  2. Publish it to the Template Center.
  3. Then, using Make.com, automatically recreate that dashboard in a new workspace (for example, during a client onboarding process).

Has anyone tried this, or is there a known workaround or API support for automating dashboard creation from templates?

Appreciate any guidance — thank you!

This would be a really helpful automation, especially for streamlining client onboarding! As far as I know, Monday API currently supports board creation from templates, but dashboard templating and automation through Make seems more limited or undocumented. A workaround might involve using Make to trigger dashboard element creation manually, but replicating full dashboard layouts likely requires further API development or custom apps. Worth keeping an eye on updates from Monday.

Thanks for the insight @WirkKarl
I actually managed to work around the limitation by creating a template dashboard that the client can manually duplicate for their onboarding process. Once duplicated, they can apply filters based on their needs — for example, by client name or project criteria.

It’s not fully automated through Make.com yet, but this approach keeps things organized and scalable for now. Definitely keeping an eye out for future API enhancements from Monday!

Happy to share more if anyone needs the steps I followed.
