I’ve searched and cannot see if this is possible. Is it possible to automatically extract the end date of a timeline and use this end date to automatically populate the Due Date column? It would save a step! Thanks.
hi @weareborg
There is an 3rd partij app https://monday.com/marketplace/18 which keeps a time line in sync with 2 date columns (start and end). Maybe this can be helpful?
Thanks @basdebruin. I will check. However, I would have thought a built formula for this was both available and relatively straightforward. (though I’ve clearly been unsuccessful! )
Hey @weareborg
If you were looking to trigger certain automations based off of the timeline end date, then this is possible for some of our current automation recipes!:
Simply search for “timeline” in your Automations Center and you should see the eligible recipes appear:
Otherwise, you can always use The Formula Column to show the last date in the Timeline Column:
FORMAT_DATE({Timeline#End}, "DD MMM YYYY")
If you still need other automations that don’t support the Timeline Column to run according to this end date, then you can always try using the General Caster app to achieve what you’re trying to do with monday.com.
Do note that General Caster was not developed by the monday.com team. As such, we don’t have any control over its functionality – and do not provide support for setting it up. Our team has reviewed it against our security and privacy guidelines, but we cannot fully certify it.
If you do want to try it out, I’d recommend checking out the app details in the marketplace here: The monday apps marketplace. You can review the app’s documentation (and applicable privacy policies) and install it if you choose.

You can also contact @rob from the General Caster team for any questions you have about the app!
I hope this helps! Remember to mark as solved if this answers your question
