Just like the title says. Is there a way to disable the emoji button in text columns?

No, monday.com does not provide a built-in option to disable the emoji button in text columns. However, you can try a few workarounds:

1. Use a Different Column Type

  • Instead of a Text column, use a Long Text or Numbers column, as these do not have the emoji button.

2. Use a Formula Column

  • If you don’t need users to edit the text manually, store the text in a hidden Text column and display it using a Formula or Extract column. The Formula column does not have an emoji button.

Monday.com needs to add a means to turn the emoji ‘feature’ off.

I and my coworkers do pretty heavy data entry all day, every day. The difference between tabbing between columns and pressing enter to bypass the mandatory emoji selection option and then tabbing to the next column is a HUGE damper on our productivity.

Feel free to keep the emojis as an option for those that want it. Those of us that don’t should be able to turn them off. Monday is sold as a productivity improvement application. We should be able to opt out of the things that actually limit our ability to do our jobs efficiently.

Yes! It adds a couple seconds to each piece of data entry, and when we have 100’s to 1000’s of things to process, it really adds up.
A simple toggle would be lovely.

Yes! It is such a pain that you cannot tab past the column because of an emoji option. I would love to turn this feature off.
